Ayako Imoto & Ramona Laxy

Ayako Imoto (piano) completed her bachelor’s degree in piano at the Doshisha Woman’s College of Liberal Arts in Kyoto (Japan). Her love for the art song led her to the International College of Music in Hamburg, where she initially focused on the German Lied. Since 2020, she has been studying in the Master’s programme in Art Song Interpretation in Freiburg with Prof. Matthias Alteheld and is looking forward to exploring new playing techniques and sound worlds together with soprano Ramona Laxy.

Ramona Laxy (soprano) graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with a State Exam in School Music Teaching, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in singing and violoncello. After completing her traineeship as a music teacher, she decided to focus entirely on singing and has been studying for a Master’s degree in concert and opera singing with Prof. Markus Eiche at the Freiburg University of Music since 2020. In Ayako Imoto she found a German Lied partner who is as versatile as she is sensitive, with whom she prefers to explore the repertoire of the 20th and 21st century.
