Prof. Denis Rouger
As a child of a Parisian family of musicians, Prof. Denis Rouger made his first musical experiences at an early age and deepened them in his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he received three first prizes.
As a professeur agrégé at the University Paris-Sorbonne, he is conductor of the Chœur de Paris-Sorbonne and has been teaching choral conducting there for 20 years. From 1993 to 2003 he was choirmaster at the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris, as well as at the Madeleine, which appointed him honorary chapel master in 2006.
In April 2011, Denis Rouger accepted an appointment as professor of choral conducting at the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart. The Chamber Choir of the University, which he founded in autumn 2011, won first prize at the International Choir Competition in Mosbach (Germany) in 2014. In 2016 he founded the figure humaine kammerchor and gives regular concerts at renowned festivals conducting the chamber choir.
