Part 3: Marcel Dupré – the church musician

For 37 years Dupré succeeded Charles-Marie Widor as organist at the church of St Sulpice in Paris. A manageable number of smaller vocal works for liturgical use date from this period.
In this episode, Olivier Latry and Denis Rouger shed light on the social role of a church musician at the beginning of the 20th century in Paris. New musical discoveries will expand Dupré’s church music repertoire.
